Deveer’s Walk-Off Picture Perfect Ending In Sunshine Coast Stingrays’s Victory Over Sunshine Coast Marlins

Sunshine Coast Stingrays took their game in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off stolen base at the end of the game to topple Sunshine Coast Marlins. Sunshine Coast Stingrays trailed 13-12 in the bottom of the fourth inning when Sunshine Coast Stingrays scored on a stolen base during James Deveer’s at bat. Then Deveer singled.

Despite falling down by four runs in the first inning, Sunshine Coast Marlins tried to fight back. Sunshine Coast Marlins managed seven runs in the failed comeback. Nadja Rathenow, Jason Dennien, Bret Buckland, Bo George, and Dennien powered the rally with RBIs.

Sunshine Coast Stingrays captured the lead in the first inning. Richard Hawkes drew a walk, scoring one run.

Sunshine Coast Stingrays evened things up at eight in the bottom of the second inning when an error scored one run for Sunshine Coast Stingrays.

Sunshine Coast Marlins scored six runs in the second inning. Sunshine Coast Marlins big bats were led by Rathenow, Dennien, and Buckland, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Gary Drinnan was on the hill for Sunshine Coast Marlins. They surrendered six runs on five hits over two-thirds of an inning. Dane Gaspar, George, and Dennien each contributed in relief for Sunshine Coast Marlins.

Sunshine Coast Stingrays tallied 14 hits on the day. Laura Woodrow, Eythan Hawkes, Jordan Corte, Crys-kai Carroll, and Deveer each had multiple hits for Sunshine Coast Stingrays. Deveer, Carroll, Corte, Hawkes, and Woodrow each managed two hits to lead Sunshine Coast Stingrays. Sunshine Coast Stingrays stole ten bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Ian Atkinson led the way with two.

Sunshine Coast Marlins collected 12 hits. Gaspar, George, Dennien, and Buckland each racked up multiple hits for Sunshine Coast Marlins. Gaspar went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Sunshine Coast Marlins in hits. Gaspar led Sunshine Coast Marlins with five stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 17 stolen bases.
